UNIG
Reinventing design system
for Denmark's leading
curtain e-shop
Background
UNIG is Denmark's largest curtain e-shop, offering services in Norway and Sweden as well. With a diverse product range, including blinds and roller curtains, the company specializes in customizing its offerings. I was tasked with facelifting and unifying the brand's visual style, and enhancing the customer-friendly shopping experience through a new design system.
UNIG's design felt outdated and was inconsistent across
the website.
It was crucial to refresh the colour scheme, create a typographic hiearchy and consistent design system.
Custom product icons for better shopping
experience
Another aspect of my job involved improving the recognition of fourteen various assortments, often visually similar. I designed minimalistic icons to aid differentiation, implementing them in the e-shop filter, filter comparison and configuration section.
Marketing icons
were integrated in
the consistent visual style as well.
Refreshed design

to the homepage.
Four crowns for Premium, one
crown for Basic
One of my key contributions was developing a system that categorizes products by quality — five crowns for Unig Premium, one crown for Unig Basic, etc. These four categories were integrated into the e-shop filter as well as the product preview and category description. It was a significant step in bringing clarity to the diverse product range.
Almost one hundred custom icons crafted mainly for product configuration.
